Grit Mechanism / Clarifier
Center Driven with Reciprocating Classifier, Vortex type with/without Air/Screw conveyor, others
Grit Classifiers are used to remove grit from water.
Reactor Clarifier / Solid Contact Clarifier
1. Bridge Mounted Type (BM-SCC): This is a centrally driven type mechanism mounted on a Bridge spanning the tank; for up to 110 feet in diameter. With a specially designed Recirculator to achieve high discharge or recirculation rate for increased solids contact.
Bridge-Mounted Drive Designs Combination W/W series drives
provide up to 100,000 ft-lbs torque.
Bridge-Mounted Drive Designs Combination series drives provide up to 100,000 ft-lbs torque. These drives consist of a single reduction worm gear train and spur gear or combinations thereof to achieve desired output
2. Column (Central Pier) Mounted type (CM-SCC): This is also a centrally driven type mechanism but is mounted on a Stationery Central column usually in RCC; for larger tank diameter spanning from 50 to about 200 feet in diameter. Again here the Recirculator is specially designed to achieve high discharge or recirculation rate for increased solids contact.
For larger, center column-mounted machines, combination C/C series
drives provide up to 400,000 ft-lbs torque. These drives utilize heat-
treated alloy steel spur gears and pinions, along with 4-point contact
